The KassenSichV applies to all companies in Germany that use electronic cash register systems or cash registers. This includes the retail trade as well as the catering & hotel industry, trade & commerce, healthcare and also the transport & mobility sector such as taximeters. The aim is to ensure that cash register data is tamper-proof and transparent. Companies that use open store tills are exempt from the regulation, as are ticket machines and parking machines, for example.
